Avs winger blasts Corey Perry for actively trying to injure players in the postseason
Corey Perry has made a pretty good living playing on the edge. Unfortunately, when you play on the edge, you often stray across the line and that can tarnish your name, give you a bad reputation and at that point, you have lost the benefit of the doubt. For Perry, it's almost as if he's just steered into the skid and embraced being the villain.
One player who is definitely not a Corey Perry fan is Colorado Avalanche winger Valeri Nichushkin, who was recently asked during an interview in his native Russia about players who got under his skin in the Stanley Cup Finals.

When asked what he thought about the aforementioned Perry, Nichushkin was far less dismissive of the agitation as being just a part of playoff hockey and far more critical of Perry's methods of causing chaos.
This is very likely Nichushkin's commentary on Corey Perry intentionally leaning on Avs forward J.T. Compher's right knee and pushing himself up using Compher's knee and then kneeling down on Compher's right ankle back on June 18th. To be fair, Nichushkin wasn't the only one who disliked Perry's antics and apparent intent to injure.
