As he approaches 30 years as the NHL's head honcho, Bettman was asked on the Marchand and Ourand Podcast about when he plans to step down as commissioner.
Bettman spoke about the amount of travel he does as part of his job. In one week he travelled from Carolina to Montreal, then Calgary, Edmonton, South Florida, Tampa and finally New York.
It's about the game, it's about how I feel about the game and my connection to it that will determine how long I do it. Obviously, I can't do it forever. But I'm enjoying the run
Sounds like at 69 (nice) years old, Bettman doesn't see himself resigning his role any time soon. Evidently the rain of boos he's been hearing during nearly every public appearance haven't been enough to convince him that fans around the league are desperate for new blood in the NHL's head office. It seems that we are stuck with Bettman until further notice.
