The 28-year-old struggled at the beginning of the season trying to find his place on this team but has really taken off recently while playing on a line with John Tavares and William Nylander.
A lot has been made of Bertuzzi's unique style this season, flying all over the ice with the tongues out on his skates, his flow hardly contained within his helmet and, of course, the lack of tape on the butt end of his stick. Well, it would appear as though one of these things has changed. Bertuzzi has now added tape to the end of his stick... sort of.
During the broadcast cameras caught Bertuzzi completing his very unique tape job on his stick. He placed single strip on the but end of it. Fans were loving it.
The fans are falling in love with Bertuzzi and, so far, he has fit in very well with the Leafs.
The Sudbury, Ontario native also had a beautiful assist after losing his glove, which Sheldon Keefe hilariously described post game.
With everything that Bertuzzi is able to do on the ice, as well as his unique quirks that have endered him to the fanbase, I'm sure most of Leafs Nation would like to see him back with the team next season and beyond. Of course, it will depend entirely on how the negotiations go and where both sides stand when it comes to money and term.
