Vancouver Canucks coach Rick Tocchet fired a shot at the Toronto Maple Leafs when asked for an injury update on Elias Pettersson as the team prepares for game 1 Thursday against the Edmonton Oilers.

The Vancouver Canucks and Edmonton Oilers are still waiting for the puck to drop on their second round series, which will happen Thursday night. As the two teams prepare, it is giving their players ample time to rest some bumps, bruises and illnesses.

On Tuesday, Elias Pettersson missed practice for what the team described as an 'illness' and following practice today, Tocchet was asked about his status ahead of Game 1 Thursday night. Tocchet confirmed that he would be playing and that ruling him out of practice Tuesday with an 'illness' was not to hide an injury.

"We don't lie here", said Tocchet, seemingly firing a shot at the Leafs and how they handled the injuries of Auston Matthews and William Nylander.

It isn't the first time this week that someone has taken a shot at how the Leafs did or did not disclose injuries to players as the Toronto media was also not impressed with the fact the Leafs and Matthews for that matter did not provide much clarity after the series ended.
