"Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas held a press conference today to introduce the new Leafs' players.Jake Campbell and Kyle Clifford are expected to be big pieces for the Leafs down the stretch. While adding some grit and a hopeful upgrade at the backup goalie position the team still needs some help on the blueline. Did Dubas try and get a package deal done which includes Alec Martinez who's currently on the trade block. Dubas was straight forward about his answer..."No". The Leafs don't have a first round pick to acquire Martinez which is what it will probably require and probably aren't willing to give up Kasperi Kapanen for an older defenseman.
Very firm "No" by Kyle Dubas on whether Alec Martinez could've been part of a bigger deal. — J (@Account4hockey) February 6, 2020
