"With one big problem in the William Nylander contract solved, Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas still has lots of work to do.The Leafs GM has to figure out how to sign Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, Kasperi Kapanen and Jake Gardiner for next season. Toronto already has about $56million used up for next year for 12 players, which won't leave much room for Dubas to play around with. However it looks like he'll get a bit of help. NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said he expects the league's salary cap to jump to $83million next season from the $78million it's at this season. If Bettman's prediction comes true, that gives Dubas an extra $5million to play with next summer.
The NHL is projecting a salary cap of roughly $83-million for next season, per Gary Bettman. — Chris Johnston (@reporterchris) December 3, 2018
