"The clock is ticking and William Nylander still hasn't signed a deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs or been traded. At the starting of the week we heard the Leafs were extremely close to making a new deal official, however as the week went on it's starting to seem that a trade is more likely. With time running out it seems that Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas is calling teams to get the best offers available. The team we've heard the most is the Carolina Hurricanes, however the Philadelphia Flyers have also been mentioned a couple of times in trade rumours and it looks like they're still in it. TSN's Frank Seravalli reports that Dubas did speak with Paul Holmgren of the Flyers about Nylander. This is really interesting because Ron Hextall was fired as Flyers general manager at the starting of the week and the team hasn't hired a new GM yet. Holmgren has made some of the worst trades over the last 20 years, so could Dubas be trying to take advantage of the situation and get a king's ransom from the Flyers?
