The Buffalo Sabres will make their first visit to the Air Canada Centre this evening before returning for the series finale in a week. The Leafs spit the pair of games in Buffalo earlier this month, outscoring them 8-7. The Maple Leafs held an optional skate this morning so we can expect the same lineup we have seen the past two games. That means Roman Polak will remain in the lineup while Connor Carrick, who had the game winning goal in Buffalo 11 days ago, will be out. Patrick Marleau will play in his 700th consecutive regular season game, the second longest active streak in the NHL behind Keith Yandle. Marleau has a goal and three points against the Sabres this season. A win tonight will extend the Leafs franchise-record home winning streak to 14 games. It will also tie the Leafs record for wins in a season with 45 and home wins with 26.
