An overtime goal was cause for celebration for Mitch Marner of the Maple Leafs, but he accidentally left one of his teammates hanging in the celebration process.

Coach Craig Berube has expressed concern over Mitch Marner and Auston Matthews since their return from the 4 Nations Face-Off mentioning after Tuesday's win that the pair is pretty fatigued following a busy run with the recent 4 Nations Face-Off.
His concern was lessened last night as the two Leafs stars were on the ice together for the overtime goal to complete the late rally and defeat the Boston Bruins by a score of 5-4.
Unfortunately for an excited Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner blew right past him during his celebration, appearing to surge towards his goaltender, Anthony Stolarz, instead.
Despite getting the perfect pass from Matthews in OT, which led to his second goal of the game, Mitch Marner inadvertently left Matthews completely hanging when he went for the high five.

This was the second time in a week where Marner has inadvertently burned Matthews -- the first being a week ago at the 4 Nations Face-Off when Marner ripped a pass through Matthews that landed on the tape of Connor McDavid, who buried it in OT for Canada, sending the U.S. players back to their NHL clubs empty-handed.
Marner overlooking Matthews during the OT goal celebration can be forgiven. However, the latest update on negotiations between Marner and the Leafs may not sit well with fans as TSN's Bob MacKenzie said he believes the forward will go to free agency on July 1st to test the market.
