Last week we heard from both Darren Dreger and Pierre LeBrun that the Toronto Maple Leafs and defenseman Jake Muzzin are working on an extension. According to LeBrun, the contract is expected to be for 4 years and carries an AAV of $5.5million.Over the weekend the defenseman himself was asked about the chatter and confirmed it's getting close to done. «I let my agent handle these things, but we are close,» Muzzin said with a smile. Muzzin scored a goal on Saturday against the Senators and followed that up with an assist on Sunday. New Leafs' backup goalie Jack Campbell is excited to be reunited with his teammate. «I was so upset when they traded him from L.A.,» Campbell said. «It's great to be back with him.»
