"It's going to be a tough offseason for the Toronto Maple Leafs and general manager Kyle Dubas and it might get tougher than expected. We've heard plenty of chatter that if the Leafs can't get a deal done with pending restricted free agent Mitch Marner soon, the offer sheets could rain in for Marner. NHL analyst Pierre McGuire reports that there's one team that's zoned in on Marner. After failing to get to the opportunity to try and sign Erik Karlsson during free agency the New York Rangers are ready to go hard at Marner according to McGuire. He would fit into their "rebuild" at just 22 years old and they definitely have the cap space and draft picks to get an offer sheet done. Of course Marner actually signing the offer sheet is a different story. One things for sure, Dubas needs to get a deal done with Marner because it's becoming clear that teams won't shy away from trying to get him to sign an offer sheet.
