"Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas has solidified his roster for the 2019-20 season, all except Mitch Marner. Dubas said at the end of year presser that his first priority was getting Mitch signed then everything else would fall into place however it's been the exact opposite. Once Nathan Horton is placed on LTIR and a couple of guys are sent down to the AHL, the Leafs will have just about exactly enough what they need for Marner. It all depends of course on what Marner wants and earlier reports had Marner wanting "Auston Matthews money". On Thursday reports came out from David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period that a team was preparing an offer sheet for Marner and it looks like we've got more details. According to Mike Kelly of The NHL Network, after losing out on Artemi Panarin during free agency the Islanders are willing to take a chance and try and get Marner to sign and offer sheet. It'll be hard to imagine what kind of offer sheet the Isles can put together because they're not exactly in cap heaven themselves. It could be a spicy weekend between Kyle Dubas and his former boss.
