The Toronto Maple Leafs and general manager Kyle Dubas made a couple of roster moves yesterday. As reported, the team placed forward Nic Petan and defenseman Martin Marincin on waivers. Later on today we'll learn if both players were able to sneak through or if they'll be playing for a new team. Even with that roster move, Dubas still has to make one more once Zach Hyman is officially ready to return and many have labelled Jason Spezza the odd man out. The forward just hasn't gotten any love from head coach Mike Babcock and a fresh start might be the best solution for everybody.Spezza's agent, Rick Curran, told The Fourth Period that Spezza doesn't want a change of scenery and prefers to play the season out with the Leafs. While Curran admitted that Spezza has been disappointed with his playing time, he wants to make it work. That leaves Dubas with having to either trade or waive one of Nick Shore or Dmytro Timashov, that's of course if the Leafs chose to keep Spezza around.
