There's a consensus out there, that if the Toronto Maple Leafs want to make a playoff run they'll need a better backup. Michael Hutchinson clearly isn't getting the job done with a 0-5-1 record along with 4.55 goals against average and .875 save percentage. The problem is, the Leafs don't have any other solutions. Despite his solid season with the Marlies, Kasimir Kaskisuo isn't ready to be thrown into the NHL fire yet. The Leafs need a veteran, reliable back up.Eklund from HockeyBuzz says that he's continued to hear the Maple Leafs connected with Anaheim Ducks backup goalie Ryan Miller. It isn't the most far fetched rumour and could make some sense as Miller only carries a $1.125million cap hit, the Leafs would have to hide some salary. The 39 year old Miller does however carry a modified no trade clause which allows him to pick six teams he can be moved to. Eklund adds that as much as Miller likes Souther California, the veteran goalie would like a Stanley Cup run before he retires. Playing on a brutal Anaheim Ducks team, Miller has a 4-2-2 record with a 3.00 goals against average and .908 save percentage. Would you like to see the Leafs go after Miller?
