The Toronto Maple Leafs are in Philadelphia tonight to try to cool off the all of sudden red hot Flyers. After losing 10 straight games, the Flyers won all three games on their trip through Alberta and Vancouver.
The Flyers will also get a boost to their blue line as the always physical Radko Gudas will return to the lineup. Gudas had been suspended for the last 10 games after a slash to the head of Winnipeg Jets forward Mathieu Perreault.
Tonight's stop in Philadelphia begins a stretch of three straight games away from the Air Canada Center. The Leafs will play at Detroit and Minnesota before returning home to face Carolina next Tuesday. They will then head out for five more games on the road after the brief stop home.
Auston Matthews did travel with the team after missing Sunday's game versus the Edmonton Oilers. However, he did not take part in today's morning skate and his upper-body injury will keep him out for the second straight game.
Kasperi Kapanen, who was recalled from the Marlies this morning, will not dress tonight. Josh Lievo will take Matthews spot in the lineup and skate on the fourth line versus the Flyers.
Frederik Andersen will start in goal tonight. He gave up four goals on 34 shots with these two teams met at the ACC back in late October.
