Toronto Maple Leafs' forward Jason Spezza scored his first goal as a Leaf on the weekend and Toronto got the win. Despite the success, it looks like Spezza will likely head back to the press box. Spezza found himself one of the odd men out again during line rushes this morning as Nick Shore centered the fourth line. As Jeff Veillette on Twitter points out "Spezza was a +7 on shot attempts (second among forwards), +1 on goals, scored a goal, and scored a nastier shootout goal on Saturday. Healthy scratch next game. Long live the meritocracy."While he did a great job offensively, it must be pointed out that Spezza took two ugly penalties, one of which resulted in a Flyers' powerplay goal. Unless a roster move is made this week that opens up a spot, looks like Spezza might have to get used to the press box.The forward says he'll stay ready. «You have to really stay ready,» Spezza said. «It's a little less frequency than you're used to, but I think it's important that you stay sharp in your game.»
