William Nylander Makes Big Statement About Contract Standoff.

"The Toronto Maple Leafs are cleaning out their lockers today and lots of quotes are coming out of it. We saw Jake Gardiner possibly say his goodbyes to teammates and the media as he's set to hit the open market this summer. Another interesting exchange happened with William Nylander. Nylander admitted that looking back, he regrets his contract standoff and wishes he would have been here from the start. The young Leafs' forward says he'll be working hard this summer to prove his detractors wrong next season.

William Nylander also expressed confidence that he'll be able to return to his best form next season and silence his critics: "After my performance, I have to change their opinion and play the way I know I can."
