Sheldon Keefe has finally made his decision and he will be back behind the bench next season but this time for the New Jersey Devils.

Not too long after being let go by the Toronto Maple Leafs, Keefe has found himself a new job as he will be the head coach for the New Jersey Devils ahead of the 2024-25 season.

The Devils fired Lindy Ruff in March of this past year after a disastrous season behind the bench that saw the club miss the playoffs after posting 52 wins the year prior. His replacement in Travis Green, who was named interim for the remainder of the season, was also let go but he is now the head coach for Ottawa.

Keefe will now become the 31st head coach in franchise history and brings about a lot of regular season success after compiling a 212-97-40 record with the Maple Leafs but was only able to advance past the first round one time in 5 years.

With the Devils, Keefe will have his fair share of talented players in Jack Hughes, Nico Hischier, Jesper Bratt, and Luke Hughes among several others. There's a little bit of pressure in New Jersey as they possess a team good enough to make a deep post-season run but haven't been able to show up consistently.

His new deal will stretch over the next 4 seasons, including the two years he was owed by the Maple Leafs before being let go.
