On the opening day of Leafs development camp, the prospects are gathered at Ford Performance Centre in Toronto to work with development staff and help to sharpen their skills for a week before they disperse.

All eyes during this week are on 19-year-old Matthew Knies, who chose to forego signing his ELC with the Leafs in April in favour of going back to University to play one more year with the mindset of using his time to mature as a person and a player.

One particular drill the Leafs were running on Sunday were two-on-two drills, focusing on working down low and along the wall. A clip of Knies taking part in the drill has found its way on Twitter and is giving the Leafs plenty to be excited about with their 2021 2nd round pick.

Knies looks like he's simply at another level during this drill. Granted, he's a year older and probably 20-25 lbs heavier than most of the guys he's skating with, but even still, this kid looks like he's going to be an absolute monster for he Leafs should he ink his ELC at the end of this season.
