Alex Ovechkin hammers Leafs defenseman Conor Timmins into the Washington bench
The Leafs are in Washington tonight to take on Mr. 800 Alex Ovechkin and his Washington Capitals and while Ovechkin has yet to score #801 to tie the great Mr. Hockey, Gordie Howe, he did add Leafs defenseman Conor Timmins to his highlight reel.
During the second period, Ovechkin lined up Timmins for a big hit in the neutral zone, connecting clean and sending Timmins over the boards and into his own team's bench.
I don't think I'll ever get tired of hits like this, but next time I'd prefer to see a Leaf delivering the hit and a Capitals player heading over the bench.
