Police in Saskatchewan are on the hunt for the perpetraitor(s) of the theft of a massive amount ot Wayne Gretzky memorabilia, Global News has reported. According to the report, Aron Gratias, a Saskatchewan native, had stored nearly $100,000 of memorabilia, much of which was autographed by The Great One himself, in a storage container at his in-laws' rural property.

On Sunday, Gratias' father-in-law discovered that someone had broken into that storage container and the entire contents of his collection had been taken.

Nineteen Gretzky jerseys, autographed large Gretzky pictures, a large painting, autographed sticks, autographed pucks all in display cases, close to 10,000 cards, including 2,200 of Gretzky, some autographed and one framed Gretzky PSA 8 rookie card (worth an estimated $20,000 on its own), 1979 Mattel dolls still in boxes, figurines, some of which were autographed and Team Canada autographed photos were among the items stolen.

The graded Gretzky rookie card has a unique barcode attached to it, which can be helpful in locating it, so long as the code is not removed.

"I think they were specifically after the collection and it seems to be all they went for."

The victim of the theft revealed that there were a lot of items in the storage container aside from the Gretzky collectibles that were left completely untouched.

The collection was something that Gratias had been building up since he was a kid. His hope was to one day pass the memorabilia down to his kids as well. What an absolute shame.
