Leafs prospect Rodion Amirov was diagnosed with a brain tumour back in February but luckily there's some good news to report regarding his health.
On Saturday's Hockey Night in Canada broadcast, Sportsnet showed a video of Amirov working out in Germany and, according to Elliotte Friedman, Amirov has been on the ice skating 3 times per week.
The 20-year-old has already undergone his first six weeks of chemotherapy treatment and is currently awaiting his next cycle of treatment. Chemo can be absolutely brutal on the body, so the fact that Amirov is staying active should be taken as a really good sign that he's responding well to the treatment.
Luckily, Amirov has been able to resume hockey related activities and it's safe to say every hockey fan is looking forward to the day he's back on the ice, hopefully in North America with the Toronto Marlies, and most importantly, when he finally beats cancer.
