Florida has officially parted ways with assistant coaches Ulf Samuelsson and Derek MacKenzie, according to ESPN's Kevin Weekes, who broke the news from his laundry room on Sunday. No, I'm not kidding.
Weekes also confirmed that the Panthers are expected to retain Jack Adams Award Finalist Andrew Brunette, who acted as interim head coach this season, helping lead the Panthers to a Presidents Trophy win, as the league's top regular season team.
Per Weekes, Florida has not committed to bringing Brunette back as head coach next season, despite posting the fact that the Panthers posted the best record in franchise history this season. I would imagine that it won't be long before we get some clarity on the situation - especially with the draft now just 3 and a half weeks away.
