Just when it looked as though the Leafs might be bound for another disappointing loss against a bottom-feeder team, Michael Bunting and Auston Matthews connected for a nasty goal in the third period to bring the Leafs to within one!
The goal was not announced immediately, despite Matthews emphatically pointing towards the net to inform the officials that the puck had crossed the line.
