Auston Matthews can not stop scoring goals. The kid from Scottsdale, AZ scored in the third period of Saturday night's wild tilt between the Leafs and Blues with a beauty one-timer off of a slick pass from Mitch Marner for his 25th of the season.

Matthews is now the first and only Leaf to ever score at least 25 goals in his first 6 seasons. Not one of Sittler, Gilmour, Clark, Sundin or Keon can claim they've been able to do what Matthews has. That's a crazy stat, but what's even crazier is that Matthews' career low in goals was 34 in 2017-18 when he injured his shoulder. It won't be long until Matthews is the only Leaf to score 30 in each of his first 6 seasons.

What we are witnessing as Leafs fans can only be described as greatness. Auston Matthews is the best hockey player to ever lace up the skates for the blue and white, period. At the very least, he's the best from a goalscoring perspective.

Matthews will attempt to tie another NHL record on Wednesday when the Leafs visit the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden. His 10-game scoring streak on the road is one short of tying the NHL record.
