Avs provide update on Nathan MacKinnon; it's bad news and could force him out of the All-Star Game
Earlier this week, Colorado Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon had the misfortune of having his own stick smashed into his face due to a hit from Boston Bruins forward Taylor Hall. The Avs have since provided an update on the health status of MacKinnon and, unfortunately, it's not good news for the player or the team.
Per head coach Jared Bednar, MacKinnon suffered a facial fracture and a concussion on the play, which left him bloodied and took him out of the remainder of the game. MacKinnon played just under 1 minute in the contest.
MacKinnon is expected to miss the next 3 Avalanche games at the very least, and is also in jeopardy of missing the All-Star Game in Las Vegas as well. Tough break for one of the absolute best players in the game.
