Brayden Point was injured in Game 7 of round 1 against the Leafs and had not played since. Although he returned to that game and attempted to finish it, his injury held him out of the lineup for both the Lightning's series against Florida and New York. It's unclear what exactly his injury is, although we know it is some sort of lower body injury.

If you watch the replay of his injury above, you can see that he is reaching for what appears to be his right hip or groin. As he falls though he also looks to land awkwardly on his right ankle as well. My best guess is that it is a severe groin injury, given that in his rehabbing skates he would sometimes lose his footing making turns. But that is pure speculation.

After a month of rehabbing, he returned for Game 1 of the Cup Final and didn't look overly hindered by or worried about his injury. However, after the overtime loss, Point was not made available to the media as he and the team opted for him to receive treatment for his injury instead. I would've done the same if it was me so you can't blame him. He wants to help Tampa win their third straight cup and the more treatment and maintenance he has done to his injury, the better his chances of playing every game.

It will be something to keep an eye on as the series progresses. If he starts to make media availabilities after games, we will know that the injury is feeling better, if he doesn't, it likely means it's still impacting his game.
