Central Division team confirms that they're willing to take on money for futures
With just 7 weeks remaining until the NHL's March 21st trade deadline, we have our first team that has confirmed that they are willing to take on contracts and retain money on players for other teams.
According to TSN's Chris Johnston on Tuesday's edition of Insider Trading, the Arizona Coyotes are still very much interested in taking on contracts and help teams obtain some cap flexibility by taking on salary in exchange for prospects and draft capital.
The Coyotes currently sit in 31st place, ahead of only the Montreal Canadiens in the overall league standings, and currently own eight picks in the first two rounds of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
It's crazy to think that the Yotes could add additional high picks in what is supposed to be a fairly deep draft. With the glut of talent on the way for Yotes, the only question remains is will the team still reside in Arizona by the time they become a powerhouse, or will the organization land in a new city who will benefit from the fruits of Arizona's labor?
