Claude Julien is set to be behind Team Canada's bench tonight as they take on Team USA in their second game of the group stage at the 2022 Winter Olympics. The former Habs and Bruins bench boss was supposed to coach Team Canada's Men's Olympic Hockey roster from the get-go. That was unfortunately delayed because Julien suffered an injury and needed surgery after a team building exercise.

Today, it was revealed why Julien missed Canada's first game against Germany. Team Canada held their training camp for the Olympics in Switzerland. During this time, the team went tobogganing as a team building exercise. Julien reportedly fell off of his toboggan and hit a tree. The accident resulted in Julien needing surgery for a broken rib and a punctured lung.

I'm sure the majority of Canadians have had their fair share of sledding accidents but I'm sure that not many suffered the same fate that Julien did. Luckily, the veteran coach is feeling better and will be behind Team Canada's bench as they look to build off of their 5-1 win against Germany.
