The playoffs are a game of attrition. The wear and tear of playing heavy, hate filled 7-game series against the best teams in the league is brutal. One unique aspect of hockey is the laundry list of injuries that are revealed every year after the playoffs end.

The Tampa Bay Lightning were dealing with a myriad of injuries, worst among them were Brayden Point's torn quad muscle and Anthony Cirelli's torn AC joint and dislocated shoulder. It's amazing that some of these players can even walk let alone play hockey. Both Nazem Kadri and Valeri Nichushkin needed help just getting their skates on due to their injuries.

As for the Avs' list of issues? Well, it's pretty extensive. Surprisingly, the entire team is dealing with the same issue!

Somehow, I don't think the Avs are too concerned with any of these player issues. I don't think the problem will be long term, but it may be recurring throughout points of the summer LOL.
