Star forward of the Colorado Avalanche, Nathan MacKinnon, knew he'd be pulling out all the stops for his Stanley Cup party when he took the cup to his hometown of Cole Habour, Nova Scotia - a community that is part of the Halifax Regional Municipality. Notably, Cole Harbour is also the hometown of none other than Sidney Crosby, MacKinnon's idol-turned-friend and fellow NHL superstar.
MacKinnon attended and partied hard at both Crosby's Stanley Cup parties in 2016 and 2017 following the Pittsburgh Penguins' two-peat. Therefore expected the same from Crosby regarding his own celebration.
During the NHL's player media event in Las Vegas this past weekend, Crosby sat with Jeff Marek and Elliotte Friedman for their 32 Thoughts podcast and gave a little insight on whether or not he was indeed the drunkest at Mackinnon's party, per MacKinnon's challenge.
Being one of the self-proclaimed top five drunkest at the gathering and being there for hours after MacKinnon left his own party shows that Crosby committed to meeting the expectations set for him, all while celebrating a friend whose hard work finally paid off.
