Things got out of hand during a men's league game in Burnaby, British Columbia last night. By out of hand, I mean criminal charges should be handed out. About 10 seconds into the video, the player in the dark jersey who is being held on the ice by the ref, kicks number 90 in white in the face/head. The video cuts out before we see any blood, but player in the white jersey had his helmet knocked off in the scrum, so the kick likely connected with exposed skin.

The player in the dark jersey, according to the replies to the below tweet, had just finished serving a suspension for jumping another team's goalie so he clearly has some issues and will almost certainly be kicked out of the league. Not only should he receive a lifetime ban from the league, but he should face criminal charges for assault at the minimum. You can see the incident below:

Guys that take men's league hockey this seriously are the absolute worst. For starters, it isn't professional hockey. Secondly, these guys all have jobs and have to go to work everyday. Something like a face laceration could limit someone's ability to do their job. Plus, let's not ignore the fact that the player who was kicked could be permanently disfigured or, if the kick caught him in the neck, he could have been killed.

Truly unbelievable.
