There were a couple of very important games taking place on Thursday that had playoff implications in the Atlantic Division. One of these games was the Boston Bruins hosting the Tampa Bay Lighting and the other was the Montreal Canadiens hosting the Florida Panthers.

During the Bruins/Bolts game, the atmosphere was a lot like a playoff game. The game was fast-paced, competitive and both teams were throwing their weight around.

Near the end of the second period, while the B's and the Bolts were playing some 4-on-4 hockey, Bruins winger David Pastrnak lined up Lightning defender Mikhail Sergachev for a huge hit behind the Tampa net. He came in at a high velocity to throw the hit, but the only problem was that Sergachev saw Pasta coming and blew past him, sending Pastrnak crashing hard into the end boards with a jaw dropping thud.

What's worse? Pastrnak also earned himself a tripping penalty on the play, clipping Sergachev's leg before slamming into the boards.

Thankfully, Pastrnak was not injured on the play. Given the fact that he made such a sickening sound after hitting the boards, he's lucky to have walked away unscathed. It certainly didn't prevent him from scoring a hat trick to lead the Bruins to a 3-2 victory over the Lightning.
