Does Nylander know something the rest of us don't about the Sandin negotiations?

With Timothy Liljegren missing significant time to start the season and Jake Muzzin already injured, Rasmus Sandin may find himself with a contract very soon. That is, if it was never about the money and more about where he was going to play. As of right now though, it seems he's all about the money.

This isn't the first time that a young, Swedish Leaf represented by Lewis Gross has held out for a contract, as William Nylander did the same thing in 2018. Nylander ended up missing the first two months of the season before signing mere moments before the December 1 deadline.

We have more questions than answers at this point when it comes to Sandin's situation, but Nylander did touch on the Sandin negotiations on Friday with the media. Nylander revealed that he spoke to Sandin this morning and when asked to comment on Sandin's current status, all Nylander said was, "hopefully it'll be done soon."

Nylander and Sandin are quite close and spent most of their summer training together back in Sweden. If anyone knows what Sandin is thinking right now, it's Willy. If Willy is indicating that we might be close, then perhaps we'll have a resolution sooner than later.
