It is no secret that the COVID-19 restrictions are drastically different when comparing the U.S. and Canada. As a result of the lost revenues, we have seen some Canadian teams request to play some home games in the U.S., but earlier today, Leafs GM Kyle Dubas addressed whether or not the Leafs would consider the move.

Dubas said, somewhat begrudgingly, that the Leafs are doing their best to follow the rules that are currently in place, but he also said "this is home for us. It's tough to ask our players and their families to pick up or players to move from their families when their kids are in school."

Unfortunately, the COVID restrictions in Ontario are out of Kyle Dubas' control, and as much as players, management, and fans all want Scotiabank Arena packed to the rafters, it appears as though we're still a ways off from that.

Dubas ended this part of his media availability today by saying: "We'll get through this next stretch of 3 games, we'll look forward to having 50 percent back and then 100 down the stretch and into the playoffs. Which is a lot of fun for us because, as you know, we didn't have any last year."

If restrictions stay on the same track as they are currently in Ontario, the Leafs will be able to have 50 percent capacity at Scotiabank Arena on February 21st and full capacity starting March 14th. Until then, the Leafs will tough it out in Toronto with the current pandemic restrictions.
