After announcing his retirement earlier this summer, it was unclear if 3-time Cup Champ and future Hall-of-Famer Duncan Keith would remain involved in hockey in some capacity or take some time to be with his family. According to Oilers reporter Bob Stauffer Duncan Keith and the Oilers have quietly answered that question, with a formal announcement expected at some point soon.

Keith will remain a part of the Oilers organization this upcoming
season and an announcement could happen as early as this week. While no role has been specified, that should become more clear with the announcement. Stauffer reported that Keith will likely join as an Assistant GM or as part of the coaching staff, leaning more towards the executive role.

As Keith retired with 1 year remaining on his contract and is over 35 years old, the Chicago Blackhawks will have a cap recapture penalty for the next two seasons. This season they will have a $5.5M cap hit and next season will be a $1.9M cap hit on the books for Keith's contract. The Oilers on the other hand, will not be assessed any cap recapture penalty, which is VERY fortunate, given their current cap situation.
