Dogs have always been known as «man's best friend» and even though they are at times just one part of our lives, we are their entire lives. Strome has had many ups and downs during his time in Chicago and just a couple short years ago he and his fiancé got Wrigley to help take his mind off hockey when things weren't going well. They adopted him just before the pandemic hit and he quickly became a fan and team favourite. Sadly, last week after having surgery, Wrigley developed sepsis and unfortunately passed away Friday.

Pets of all kinds become family very quickly and when they pass, people honour them in various ways. For the Stromes, they chose to have Wrigley cremated and during the pregame warm up Saturday, Dylan sprinkled some of his ashes on the knob of his stick which also donned the name "Wrigs" and then gave a look to the sky.

It's never easy to lose a pet, let alone so suddenly. They say that the day you get a pet, you're putting one of the saddest times of your life on layaway. I'm sure we've all felt what it's like. It's absolutely accurate. But for the joy that they bring to your life and the unconditional love they give, it's a trade off that really is a no-brainer. All we can do is love them as much as we can while they're here and remember them when they're gone.

Our condolences to the Stromes during this difficult time.
