According to Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli, the Flames and Mangiapane have avoided salary arbitration with a 3-year deal, which carries an annual average value of $5.8M. Not bad for a player who had never broken the 50-point barrier until this season.
Mangiapane notched 35 goals and 55 points for the Flames last season, good for 4th in team scoring. With his new deal, the 26-year-old winger will now earn 7% of the Flames' total salary.
The Flames also inked RFA defenseman Oliver Kylington to a 2-year, $5M ($2.5M AAV) deal earlier Tuesday evening as well. GM Brad Treliving doing what he can to get his house in order before engaging in extension talks with Jonathan Huberdeau and MacKenzie Weegar.
