Hockey Canada has taken another blow after allegations of another sexual assault have surfaced on Thursday night, leading to the organization making a formal statement. You can see the basis for the complaint here:

"Yesterday evening, Hockey Canada learned of an alleged group sexual assault from 2003 involving members of the 2002-03 National Junior Team after being contacted by Rick Westhead of TSN/CTV National News with disturbing details of the alleged incident. Mr. Westhead informed Hockey Canada he has spoken to multiple witnesses who provided him with explicit descriptions of an assault, following an interview with Conservative MP John Nater who is in possession of the same or similar information."

The full statement is available at the link below:

The plot thickens, as a former Leaf and current TSN employee, Carlo Colaiacovo, happened to be on the team at the time of the alleged group sexual assault incident. Like Hockey Canada, Colaiacovo wasted no time in also releasing a statement, denying any involvement or knowledge of the incident and also committing to cooperate with the investigation into the matter.

None of this is a good look for Hockey Canada or hockey in general. The 2017-18 investigation, lawsuit and settlement was incriminating enough, but now a second incident being reported from 15 years earlier establishes a pattern of this type of behaviour. Very concerning.
