According to a report on Wednesday, a former member of the Toronto Maple Leafs had his home broken into this week, with unknown perpetrator(s) making away with many items, including a sum of cash.

Per sports news outlet "Sport Express", former Leaf Nikita Soshnikov has been the target of a burglary this week, with his Moscow apartment being robbed. According to reports, Soshnikov had left his keys with security, but somehow those keys found their way into the hands of the assailant(s).

Among the items that went missing in the heist were 2,000 Euros and $1,700 in US currency. The reports also confirmed that no arrests have been made as of yet. Tough situation to have to endure right before Christams.

Soshnikov was a member of the Leafs' organization from 2015 through 2018 before he was dealt to the St. Louis Blues. The undrafted winger suited up in 70 games for the Leafs over that span, recording 14 points. Soshnikov is currently a member of the New York Islanders organization, having played just 3 games for the Isles before being sent down to the AHL. He's played 3 games for the Bridgeport Islanders (formerly the Sound Tigers) this season as well. He has no points in either 3-game stretch.
