Another big fish is off the trade market after the Anaheim Ducks traded defenseman Hampus Lindholm to the Boston Bruins on Saturday afternoon. Lindholm was one of the best players available on the trade market and he was on the Leafs' radar from the second he became available.

In 61 games this year, Lindholm has 22 points, but his defensive impacts are his strongest. He blocks shots, kills penalties, eats minutes as he averages over 22 minutes per night in ice-time, and he'll stabilize what is an already strong Bruins defense.

It's rumoured that the Bruins were in pursuit of now Florida Panthers defenseman Ben Chiarot and wanted to sign the pending unrestricted free agent to an extension. Perhaps an extension could be included with Lindholm's services for the Bruins.

After slipping out of the playoff race, the Ducks have committed to a rebuild, Josh Manson was shipped off to Colorado and now Lindholm is a Bruin. The Ducks have another pending unrestricted free agent in Rickard Rakell who could be wearing a different uniform before 3:00pm ET on Monday as well.

A first rounder and two second rounders are believed to be a part of the Bruins' package to acquire Lindholm from the Ducks.
