Important Jake Muzzin update

The picture is looking a little clearer for the Toronto Maple Leafs and defenseman Jake Muzzin, who was on the ice this morning for the second consecutive day, doing some conditioning drills with the coaching staff ahead of the Leafs' tilt with the Coyotes tonight.

It would appear that Muzzin is progressing in the right direction after suffering his second concussion of the season on February 21st, and with his progress, it looks as though he will be back ahead of the playoffs.

This is both good and bad news for the Leafs. The good news is that the Leafs get one of their top-4 defensemen back and into game shape before the most important games begin. The bad news is that it limits the amount of cap space Dubas has to address a roster need at the deadline.

The Leafs will have a better idea of how to handle their cap situation and deadline over the next week as Muzzin continues to progress or regress.
