The Leafs come home to Toronto having taken 7 of a possible 8 points on their 4-game road trip, which is an enormous success. Now, with 98 points on the season, a win against the Habs on Saturday at Scotiabank Arena would give the Leafs just their sixth 100-point season in franchise history.
One very interesting thing to note, prior to Saturday's morning skate, the media present witnessed Carter Hutton out on the ice in Toronto, which is somewhat unexpected. Hutton was out in his Arizona gear stopping some pucks, which leads me to believe that he might get a look down the stretch here.
Hutton was acquired by the Leafs in February, but was immediately loaned to the AHL's Tucson Roadrunners, where he continued to work his way back from an injury. It was originally believed that Hutton would act only as goaltending insurance for the Leafs in the playoffs when they acquired him from the Arizona Coyotes. Perhaps the Yotes claiming Harri Sateri from the Leafs on waivers altered the Leafs' plans.
We should have some updates coming out in the Leafs' media availability after the full morning skate.
