Jacob Trouba absolutely annihilates Dillon Dube and Nazem Kadri with massive open ice hits, forced to answer the bell twice
It's nothing new for New York Rangers captain Jacob Trouba to lay a bone-crunching open ice hit or for him to answer the bell for that matter. However, it's not every day where you put two different players on your highlight reel with a pair of massive open ice hits and then fight twice within a 20-minute span.
Trouba laid his first big hit on Flames forward Dillon Dube, enticing Chris Tanev to come to the aid of his teammate, despite the hit looking like a clean one.
Next, it was Nazem Kadri's turn to get absolutely steamrolled by Trouba, sending his bucket flying off in the process. There are two angles of the hit below. It was certainly not for the faint of heart and even Dillon Dube, the victim of Trouba's first hit, had seen enough, going right after the Rangers captain.
Trouba not only laid out two separate Flames, but also won both fights. You can tell that he came to set the tone for the remainder of the Rangers' season following the break.
