Jake Muzzin was injured again during Thursday's game against the Washington Capitals. It is unclear when exactly he was injured, although he did take a high hit from Capitals' noted rat, Tom Wilson, during the game. Muzzin was spotted on numerous occasions favouring his hip.

Leafs bench boss Sheldon Keefe confirmed at practice today that the injury is not related to Muzzin's concussions from this year, which is a relief to hear. It could certainly be something flaring up from his hip injuries from previous years' playoffs.

Muzzin was absent from practice on Friday and will be unavailable to the Leafs for at least the weekend. This adds to a frustrating year for the struggling Muzzin, who has battled injury all year and been unable to find his groove when he has been healthy enough to play.

For a veteran player like Muzzin, who plays a very physical game, the body just tends to wear out a little more quickly with that style of play. Hopefully Muzzin can get the rest he needs over the weekend and, fingers crossed, he can get through the Leafs' remaining games and enjoy a lengthy playoff run worry free and deal with his issues in the offseason.
