Jake Muzzin has been sidelined with back issues for almost the entire Leafs' training camp. Muzzin said that the back issues are something that he has dealt with for a long time and it's just something he has to manage and has had to manage throughout his career.

Late last week, Muzzin returned to practice with the rest of the team and has been taking regular reps. Speaking after practice today, Muzzin said that he feels good and that he could make his way into one of the Leafs' final preseason games this weekend.

It's good news for the Leafs as they are already without Timothy Liljegren, Jamie Benn and Carl Dahlstrom for a significant amount of time, with Benn being expected back first - in just three weeks. Muzzin will likely continue to play the left side next to Justin Holl, but it wouldn't be surprising if Rasmus Sandin took Holl's spot on occasion as Muzzin and Sandin were taking reps together in practice the other day.
