Canadian pop icon Justin Bieber was at Wednesday's Next Gen game to see the Leafs debut the new alternate jerseys against the New Jersey Devils, and like the rest of us in Leafs Nation, Bieber was on the edge of his seat for much of the contest. However, his day at Scotiabank Arena did not start at 7pm. It started much earlier.
Bieber was present to view the display at Real Sports Apparel and to take some photos with fans, alumni and staff at Scotiabank Arena, as well as to meet with the team both before and after the game as well. On Thursday, the Leafs' social media team released a vid of Bieber's visit.
Bieber has literally hundreds of millions of social media followers. His success in the music industry is well documented. He pumps out chart toppers on almost every continent. This collaboration with Drew House, Bieber's company, is a very smart business decision for the Leafs. And from Bieber's perspective, how cool is it to get to rub elbows with the likes of Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner and the rest of the Leafs? And I'd imagine they're just as honoured to know him.
