"It is what it is. At the end of the day, that wasn't my decision (to leave), Regardless of who takes a chance on me, I'm going to give them everything I have. I've got great Toronto supporters and that's never gonna change," said Kadri on not winning a Cup in Toronto.
Kadri's time in Toronto ended on a bit of a sour note as he was traded following a second straight playoff where he was suspended. Kadri didn't fair much better initially in Colorado as he was suspended in the playoffs there too. He answered all those critics this season by being an integral part of the Avs team and after winning the cup said, "anyone that called me a liability can kiss my ass."
Kadri decided one Cup wasn't enough and, after almost two months, joined the Calgary Flames on a 7- year deal. Joining Calgary gave the Flames possibly a top-5 or even top-3 center depth in the league with Elias Lindholm, Mikael Backlund and himself, at least in Kadri's mind.
