It was a rough, playoff-like affair between the Winnipeg Jets and Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday night at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. Unfortunately for the Jets, only one of these teams will be a playoff team - and it's not them.

Over 50 penalty minutes were issued in the game, and there easily could have been a dozen or so more, as the officials went long stretches where they put the whistles away and let the teams play.

Despite going down 2-0 early in the game, the Leafs stormed back and ran away with the game, taking the Jets down by a score of 7-3. The game itself got pretty dicey late, which had led to a scrap between Kyle Clifford and Brenden Dillon in the final two minutes. In their first scrap back on December 5th, Clifford skated away with the victory. This time, Dillon held his own a little better, but Clifford still found a way to land some bombs.

We were also headed towards another scrap between forwards Adam Lowry and Wayne Simmonds, but the official intervened even before it happened and ejected both players to avoid things getting out of hand.

What a beautiful game.
