The Toronto Maple Leafs announced the unfortunate and untimely passing of a member of the 1967 Stanley Cup winning team early Monday evening, via the team's official Twitter account. Per the team, left winger and Goderich, Ontario native Larry Jeffrey, who played two seasons in Toronto in 1965-66 and 1966-67, has passed away at the age of 81.

Jeffrey played just 76 regular games in a Leafs jersey in the back half of his career, adding 6 more postseason games in the 1967 playoffs. Jeffrey notched just 2 points in his first 20 games as a Leaf, but really found his stride in his second season in Toronto, scoring 11 goals and adding 17 assists for 28 points in 56 games. He had just 1 assist and 4 penalty minutes in his 6 playoff games.

Jeffrey played 368 regular season games in his NHL career, which spanned 8 seasons, spending time in Detroit, Toronto and New York. He was able to amass 101 career NHL points over that span, and added 293 penalty minutes, 217 of which came during his time as a Red Wing from 1961-1965. Jeffrey's Cup win with the Leafs in 1967 was the lone win of his career.

Our deepest and most sincere condolences go out to Larry's family and friends during this difficult time.
